BUILD Preview: Enzo Mari Sedia 1 Chair
Sunday, September 7, 2025
10 AM to 2 PM

Preview Buffalo Prescott’s new BUILD workshop series and construct a Sedia 1 chair patterned by visionary Italian designer Enzo Mari. This hands-on workshop, led by Buffalo Prescott Working Resident Tony Printz, allows participants to engage directly with the act of making and will focus on simple construction techniques. The chair design is part of Mari’s Autoprogettazione series and intended to be built with simple tools and common lumber, challenging the ideas of authorship and production, creating accessible works that are readily reproducible. In alignment with our values, this and all other BUILD workshops will have a lower age component to be family inclusive.

Workshop facilitator Tony Printz worked as a Lead Designer at Chris Schanck Studios and is the Studio Coordinator for Buffalo Prescott. Printz received his undergraduate degree in Architecture from Lawrence Technological University and a master’s of Architecture from the Taubman College at the University of Michigan.

The BUILD workshop series launches later this fall as a recurring program inviting participants to construct furniture by emerging and established designers. Each edition will be conceived and executed specifically for the workshop reflecting the artist’s distinctive style while remaining accessible, intended to be built with limited fabrication experience. The BUILD series will also include opportunities to collect works as DIY kits or fully constructed custom finished objects.

Limited capacity please RSVP via Eventbrite.
