Barbara Levine and Paige Ramey on Vernacular Photography

Buffalo Prescott is happy to play host to Barbara Levine and Paige Ramey of Project B. Levine and Ramey are collectors, artists, and curators specializing in vernacular photography. Their photography collection, known as PhotoMania, was recently acquired by the Museum of Fine Arts Houston, and their first collection of vintage photograph albums was acquired by the International Center of Photography in New York.

Paige Ramey has a background in dance, video art, documentary production and analog preservation, education and performance art. Barbara Levine trained as a photographer at the San Francisco Art Institute followed by a graduate degree in Museology after which she served as deputy director of The Contemporary Jewish Museum, and as exhibitions director at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Levine grew up in the environs near Detroit and this visit marks her first return to the city.
